Assistantships, Fellowships & Financial Aid

Teaching assistantships provide full- or half-tuition remission along with accompanying stipends. Assistantships include

acting for full-tuition remission as well as a stipend for classroom, lab or studio teaching, including grading papers for literature and survey classes;
design for full-tuition remission as well as a stipend for classroom, lab or studio teaching 20 hours per week in the shop related to the student’s chosen discipline;
directing for full- or half-tuition remission and a stipend for up to three years, based on the number of assistantships allocated to the program; and
playwriting for tuition remission and a stipend for exceptional candidates when assistantships are available.

Fellowships are available through Temple’s graduate school for students with exceptional academic records. They include

presidential fellowships, which are reserved for only the most outstanding candidates; and
university fellowships, which are intended to support students who demonstrate outstanding potential for success in their chosen fields.
