Biography

Dr. Bettyanne Matase has been a nurse for 38+ years. She has worked in many different departments of the hospital including medical/surgical nursing, maternity and nursery, critical care, endoscopy suite, pain management, PACU and same day surgery. Her most loved area of nursing is critical care, where she spent 19 years of her career.

Bettyanne received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Hahnemann University in 1988. After getting married and having a family, she decided to pursue her MSN in 2008. She received her MSN in education from Walden University. In 2015, she returned to school for DNP; and successfully completed that in 2019. Her Doctoral project examined nursing students' perceptions and readiness for the death and dying process.

Her passion is being a nursing professor. Her students are her legacy and she enjoys each new semester- every student is an individual, and a gift!
