Biography

Dr. Chasity L. Riddick is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Temple University’s College of Public Health. She earned her Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Community Health from Capella University, a Master of Science in Sport Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Riddick brings more than a decade of experience in health and wellness leadership, having served as a Health and Wellness Director for organizations in Northampton and Chester Counties. Prior to joining Temple, she spent seven years at Lincoln University of Pennsylvania as Visiting Assistant Professor and Lecturer, where she expanded the health science internship program, developed new courses, and conducted research on attitudes and behaviors toward physical activity among African American college-aged women.

At Temple, Dr. Riddick teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in public health, including Foundations of Public Health, Disease Prevention and Control, Public Health Careers, Professional Seminar, and the Internship capstone. She is deeply committed to health equity, cultural awareness, and student-centered teaching. In addition to her teaching, she serves as faculty advisor for Eta Sigma Gamma, Alpha Omicron Chapter, and co-chairs the College of Public Health CLIMB Committee (Creating Leadership, Inclusion, Mentorship, and Belonging), where she works to foster inclusive learning environments and support student development.

Her scholarly and professional interests focus on determinants of health, obesity prevention, maternal and child health, physical activity promotion, and addressing health disparities in underserved communities. Beyond the university, Dr. Riddick is active in professional and community service, including leadership roles with the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE), the Fund for Women and Girls, and Eta Sigma Gamma’s national board.
