Biography

Dr. Haley Ashton, PT, DPT, CCS is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Dr. Ashton received her Doctor of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Science degrees from Ithaca College. She completed her cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy residency training at UT Southwestern Medical Center and is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy.

Dr. Ashton is an member of the ABPTS Specialization Academy of Content Experts and the Physical Therapy in Critical Care Expert Consensus Group. Her clinical expertise focuses on physical therapy management of complex cardiac and pulmonary conditions in the critical care and outpatient settings. She continues to contribute to patient-care innovation through research regarding critical care early mobility and interdisciplinary practices, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and national conference presentations.

Dr. Ashton’s current teaching responsibilities include involvement with human physiology and pathology courses, clinical management of cardiopulmonary conditions, pharmacotherapeutics, and medically complex coursework.
