Biography
Valerie E. Johnson, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She earned her Ph.D. in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
Dr. Johnson’s clinical and research interests focus on child language acquisition and disorders, as well as multicultural and social justice issues in speech, language, and hearing sciences. Her work has been presented at state and national conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals. She teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses, where she emphasizes equity-centered approaches to communication sciences and fosters inclusive learning environments.
